Unravelling the Dynamics of Christian Missionary Evangelical Activities in Colonial Punjab (1849-1947)

The article focused on the evangelical activities of Christian missionaries to convert natives Christianity in colonial Punjab, with particular reference Lahore and Sialkot districts. With annexation Punjab 1849, cultural social ethos took a surprising turn, new community converted Christians started form progressively. This societal drive was unique because it attracted individuals from affluent backgrounds triggered mass conversion socially economically side-lined communities Punjab. After annexation, flocked all parts India. Most missionaries, who moved were either associated American Presbyterian Church or Missionary Society England (CMS) Scotland. Nonetheless, along these two mission societies, other established missions India also contributed converting Christianity, though lesser extent.
